Biography
Jillian R. Powers, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Instructional Technology in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. Dr. Powers teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in instructional technology and design. Her research focuses on how technology shapes the teaching and learning process, teachers’ adoption and integration of technology into classroom practice, and infusing technology into teacher education curricula.
Dr. Powers has also presented at numerous conferences, and her research has been published in high-ranking journals, including Educational Technology Research and Development, Computers in the Schools, the Journal of Interactive Learning Research, the Journal of Computers in Mathematics and Science Teaching, and the Journal of Educational Multimedia and Hypermedia.
In 2019, Dr. Powers was selected to be a Woman Leader in STEM by the FAU ADVANCE Leadership Team, In 2022, she was the recipient of the FAU College of Education Researcher of the Year Award (Associate Professor rank) and an FAU College of Education Distinguished Teacher of the Year nominee.
