Services at a glance:

Student Accessibility Services provides a number of solution-focused services to our à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã to ensure that they receive enough resources to do well at FAU. Since fall of 2017, SAS now has a Learning Specialist who can assist our à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã and their specific academic needs. The Learning Specialist provides effective learning and skill development strategies for our à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã who are experiencing a variety of learning challenges. If you are registered with SAS and you are seeking to improve your academic success, speak with your Accessibility Consultant about scheduling an appointment with our Learning Specialist, Rebecca Eagen.

Why should you receive Learning Strategies sessions?

There are many benefits to receiving learning strategies sessions. Students have the opportunity to:

  • Learn how to effectively manage and balance a busy college schedule
  • Develop efficient and effective study skills
  • Develop academic confidence
  • Discover new and innovative technology that enhance your academic experience
What typically goes on in a Learning Strategies session?

After you discuss your academic needs with your Accessibility Consultant, your consultant will schedule an appointment with you and our Learning Specialist. Be prepared to discuss your academic strengths and weaknesses, and other academic concerns. At the end of the session, the student and Learning Specialist will devise a personalized plan that will cater to the student’s specific academic needs.
